Re: What’s everyone watching?

I've already seen all of Doctor Who, so not missing out on anything. Just watching it again for background noise. Same with House.
I am not one of those medical people who is super picky about medical shows. Sometimes I'll catch mistakes, but it's not enough to decrease my overall enjoyment. I think House is largely ok from a medical standpoint, though often far-fetched. Most complaints, if I'm remembering right, have to do with stuff like doctors doing the stuff that nurses normally would and things like that. Or complaints about unrealistically unethical behavior, but that's kind of the whole point of the show.
When I first watched House, I eventually started realizing that all the storylines felt familiar. Sure enough, the first season is based on the book The Medical Detectives by Berton Roueche, and I read that for my epidemiology class.
The friend who sleeps with the TV on actually leaves it on all night, I believe, and that's what I've been doing. HBOmax, at least, doesn't seem to have a sleep feature. I generally have no trouble falling asleep in the first place, but wake in the middle of the night and have a hard time falling back asleep. Having the TV on seems to push the middle of the night waking later by a few hours for some reason, and maybe sometimes helps me fall back asleep easier. But I do think that the light from the tv is problematic.
I'm going to try audiobooks next and see if that provides similar benefit without the light.
