Well congratulations on the job! Is that next academic year or 2024?

I'm really excited and I'll be so much closer to family (not close close but a train rather than a plane).

Thought I would add an update. I did move countries back in December and I'm back home in the UK, which means I got to spend Christmas with family which was excellent (I'd been alone for Christmas the previous three years). The place I work now feels a lot better and, although work is always stressful, it's a lot more engaging here. Making friends as an adult is hard everywhere but I'm looking for social groups/clubs I could join. So, I'm still a bit lonely but I'm not as sad.
