Pet peeves.

Post by satehen »

What really gets on your nerves, but is really trivial? What can’t you stand?

For me it’s the sound of liquid being poured, people who put fabric in their mouths eg a tie or a sleeve, the word makeshift and the sound of people eating. No idea why. They all set my teeth on edge.
And all that there is, is the absolute ugliness of being human. And you’ve got to love it. Or else you’re f**ked.

Well if we were to go out for dinner I promise not to make a sound whilst eating my sleeve haha.

I can't stand people having telephone conversations in public places like a bank or shop.
My absolute pet peeve is no way trivial and it's probably same for everybody......being put on hold for ages when calling most organisations.

Dithering and running commentary. Just get on with it!!

People who pick their faces, noses, ears etc when on Zoom calls. I don't need to see personal grooming happening when trying to do work calls.

Whenever my husband goes to open the door he either does a little whistle or starts singing da da da dum. No idea why. 😆

On the green belt where I usually ride my bike there's a paved path for cyclists and a dirt path for pedestrians (joggers, dog walkers, strollers, etc.) parallel to each other, yet the pedestrians use the bike path in spite of signage warning them not to walk on the bike path. Always annoys me when I'm riding.

People who call men who kill their partners "her boyfriend" or "her husband"
They do this even when she had gotten rid of him/dumped him before he came back and murdered her.

Isn't it enough this woman had to endure untold horrors at his hands, for goodness knows how long, only for him to be referred to as someone she was consensually in a relationship with AFTER he has killed her. If she came back to life and was asked how we should refer to him it would not by "my boo" or "hubby".
