The reality is she kept that site going, at least partially at her own expense (and the expenses she posted at one point were significant), for 15-20 years (I'm a little unclear if the first incarnation of the site on Internet Archive, from 2003, is the same owner). If she'd dropped out at the point where she personally lost most interest, I'm not sure any of us would have found it in the first place.
She totally could have handled things better, and I hope to do so. But I cannot promise I will be willing or able to be actively involved forever and ever myself.
Agree. The fact that it was so popular and helpful to so many and for years is such an achievement and has to be recognised. Could have been wrapped up better but who knew why that wasn't done.

Wow what another topic for me to reflect on—Shy became my safe place. It helped me to embrace my sexuality, to connect with some really amazing people and even some more intimate connections. Shy helped me to come out of my shell and finally be me—well at least online anyways. I don’t always say what I’m thinking or feeling, but it has made me feel so not alone and to know there are others like me. I was a member of the old site forever and oftentimes would just “lurk” at the topics.

Well, I’m not as open or participatory as I could be, but I appreciate all the different perspectives and sharing other women are willing to do here on Shys. It makes me feel a part of a special virtual community on my own terms. I hesitate to share too much online and in person frankly. I have experiences,, thoughts, and opinions on several topics, but I overthink it or they all roll over each other in my mind, as I try to consider all sides of a situation and I often don’t know where to start. So, sometimes it’s just easier not to say anything. I’m appreciative to those who take the lead and try to make this a safe space for everyone.

What has the site done for me?
Basically, it exists! I can participate in the many subjects which others as a group share. That in itself is extremely comforting. Each of us has a sexuality issue, for good or bad. It's nice to be a part of that community. I just wish the number of members would be larger. Maybe in time.
When I first joined the old site back in 2021, I was naive to think that the majority of women would be in their 20s & 30s. I just think it's amazing that all ages are represented here

I wish sexual issues were far more open, I am a little nervous about what I post.

Little nervous? Maybe, take a shot of tequila or vodka before you type
The site is meant to be a safe haven for everyone. Don't worry.

I am a very sexual person and love to watch pornography when I masturbate, this site is too safe, we can not post pornography photos even though there is a 'insert a image icon' and attachment possibilities.
I understand some members maybe offended by pornographic images, but because of the rules here its holding me back from being myself, so therefore nervous about what I post.

Blame perimenopause. A year ago I probably would have had it done already.

Other sites will cater to your needs. I don’t think this site is for that. Besides, this site tries to prevent troll and unwanted guests. Even without posting explicit photos, you can still talk about your sexual issues here if you want to just share, vent or seek any suggestions/advice. I hope any one would feel free to do that, especially you.

You are right, thank you.
