Trans day of visibility
Re: Trans day of visibility
Hey @Plumpkin. I’m not obligated to answer your question, but in the spirit of good faith and because I don’t personally mind doing so,I will. I’m not a trans woman. I identify as cis, and my pronouns are she/her or she/they.
As a member of the queer community, I am a trans ally.
As a mod, I want to make it very clear that this is a trans-welcoming space.

Hi therePlumpkin wrote: Sat Apr 01, 2023 10:29 am Just being curious and friendly, I know nothing about what a 'cis ' is.
I’m a newer poster. It is easy to google: But a cisgender person is someone who is not transgender.
I would meet this:
I’m a woman, born with a vagina etc etc and the gender I am is also a woman.
I’m a heteromantic (Google perhaps) bisexual woman.
All the best!

I wanted to say I appreciate you making it clear that the website is trans-friendly. I don't think it was stated on the previous website and I like that it's clear formally and from the beginning.

Please don’t be alarmed at this question … would Sir Grayson Perry be permitted here in female mode?
He identifies as a transvestite (his words) and has an alter ego called Claire.
He often dresses in female clothing and received honours from King Charles in women’s clothing.
(Both times it seems).
He has a wife and a daughter.

Check the section on Claire here in Wikipedia under cross dressing… he’s a renowned artist and sometimes readily appears places as Claire.

Ok I can answer my own question: I guess not.
He identifies as male and a transvestite (said in first few minutes).
This is a link to a uk channel 4 documentary:

Not reading the details of this specific case, but I believe the decision on the old site was that bigender individuals were asked to self-regulate and interact with the site only when in woman mode.
If a man wears clothing traditionally associated with women but still identifies as a man, they would not be allowed.
With so many possible variations of gender identity, there is no cut and dried, one size fits all answer here. In addition, I have no interest in trying to verify people's claimed identities. Problems with men on the site in the past, as far as I'm aware, have arisen from men acting in a creepy and predatory manner, not from genuine gender variant individuals interacting with the site in good faith.
Interact with the site in good faith and in keeping with its primary purpose as a support site. Follow the rules. Don't be creepy. Let the mods know about people who are being creepy. Don't stress what people have between their legs.
