As an outspoken critic of Israeli policy and a steadfast opponent of the authoritarian and corrupt Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, I unreservedly condemn the inhuman and barbaric Hamas whose extremism, anti-semitism and general obscurantism make it much more like ISIS than a "resistance" movement. Its actions this week will wind up killing thousands more, mostly Palestinians. For the record, I'm Jewish.

The Crisis in Gaza
Re: The Crisis in Gaza
I have been following the news on what’s happening in Gaza since last month when this started. I find what the conventional news outlets are reporting on to be very biased towards the Israeli government, so the information provided by Palestinian journalists on the ground there is invaluable.

Re: The Crisis in Gaza
I think Biden said some months ago that replicating the US's vengeful stance post 9/11 wouldn't work. It hasn't. All it's done has turn sympathy against Israel.
The whole middle east is thorny and I don't know what the answer is. But a lot of it was caused by UK and US meddling over decades. Whether that was UK promises during the second world war to the mess with the Shah which led to worse, the chaos in Iraq and how deposing Hussein brought in worse. I think the UK has mostly earned its lesson to stop meddling. I'm not sure the US has. But I also think Israel has a right to exist and surrounded by countries that think it doesn't must make for a volatile situation.
I don't know what the answer is but it's not killing, displacing and starving kids. Right now Israel is creating new generations of terrorists.

So confused.
