Wasn't quite sure where to post this......
I got embroiled in a few arguments on a Facebook discussion about redheads & gingers. Was quite shocked at the ignorance shown by many people, mostly men I have to say. Their use of the word 'gingers' in the context of their discussion often comes across as harsh, almost deragatory. Obviously it annoyed me because I'm a redhead. One guy even said that he dates white, black & brown women but wouldn't date a ginger because of their weird MC1R gene. Ah ok mate, cheers for that, I have a weird gene. Should I blame my grandparents? haha.
The irony is that the idiot guy probably doesn't even know that in actual fact there is a difference between redheads and ginger-haired people.
Pretty sure the women on this site are not the type to stigmatise us redheads. Just wanted to get your reactions basically.
Redheads or Gingers
Re: Redheads or Gingers
I am actually quite jealous of redheads at times as I think red hair while stigmatised is kind of cool.
Anybody who can discriminate on the basis of hair colour or other things is pretty shallow and isnt worth worrying about.
I used to dye my hair bright pink and was sooo worried about how people would react to it and in actual fact people were sooo nice about it. Long and the short of what I am saying is just be you and whoever doesnt like you, well you cant be everybodys cup of tea

I'm a natural red head. I hate the word "ginger". People can be so ignorant. I was teased and bullied a lot in school but now i find that a lot of women admire my hair. Some people are just plain stupid and kids can be cruel. I've made peace with my hair a very long time ago and i'm proud of it!

I find red hair beautiful myself! But really, when it comes down to it, it doesn’t matter to me what natural hair color someone has - gotta mesh well.

Re: Redheads or Gingers
I think women always have a beauty about them often both outside and in. If you fail to see that beauty it's normally because she's not allowed you to know her. I genuinely couldn't give a stuff about hair colour.
So confused.

Re: Redheads or Gingers
Was reading an article in a women's magazine suggesting that women with red hair are more fiery, short tempered and sexually more active than their counterparts. Having done an internet search, there does seem to be a lot of evidence showing this is true. Most likely due to genes which produce the red colour hair in the first place.

Clickbait in a women’s magazine doesn’t make something true ¯\_(ツ)_/¯lousund wrote: Wed Nov 08, 2023 12:44 pm Was reading an article in a women's magazine suggesting that women with red hair are more fiery, short tempered and sexually more active than their counterparts.
