Menopause, anyone?
Re: Menopause, anyone?
Does anyone have experience with hormone replacement therapy? My mother took it and swore by it, she said when she was without it she was grumpy, tired, had difficulty focusing, and had more joint pain. I got a prescription for lo lo estrin to use for HRT but I don't actually take it because at 46 I still get a monthly period and the lo lo estrin really messed with it - making it come 2 weeks early (when apparently it was supposed to stop coming at all on lo lo estrin)

Re: Menopause, anyone?
I'm 68 and done with menopause thankfully.
In my case, one post menopause effect was a loss of libido for awhile, something like 9 or 10 months of no sexual desire. I talked to my ob-gyn about it and she told me that I could get a script for hormone replacement but I declined after I got the skinny on side effects.
I got my mojo back without taking anything for it. Since then, my sexual desire hasn't declined.

Have you tried taking supplements? I take iron and ginseng. I have an underactive thyroid so feeling tired is the norm for me.
I don’t know if I’m perimenopausal, menopausal or not. I have a contraceptive implant that has stopped my periods, so I don’t know how I’ll know when I am.
And all that there is, is the absolute ugliness of being human. And you’ve got to love it. Or else you’re f**ked.

I know that feeling RedRosa, I'm going through that now, sometimes it feels as though it will never end!
I'm looking forward though and hopefully my mojo will be back very soon!

Re: Menopause, anyone?
I am about to be 51 and my periods suddenly stopped in my mid-40's. Life was extremely stressful, definitely out of the ordinary stressful! I still have occasional flashes and stuff. I did not take supplements or pay much attention. I dont really have health insurance so I don't get any medical care but I just recently discovered this health supplement stuff and have really liked the effects. They just came out with a new, homeopathic, hormone free product for balancing the female hormones. About to order some and have my daughter try because she gets seizures with her PMS. I, myself, am very happy to have my periods gone!!!! My stressful life was bad enough, doubt I could tell what was menopause symptoms vs. stress induced, so glad that part of life has ended.

My husband bought me multivitamins for Women the other night. He's thinking that now that I am perimenopausal, I might need supplements. I've been to my family doctor and I had physical examination including down there since I'm experiencing on and off dryness. I haven't applied the oestrogen cream prescribed. I don't know. I think I am waiting for my symptoms to get worse first.satehen wrote: ↑Sat May 06, 2023 2:02 pmHave you tried taking supplements? I take iron and ginseng. Im sure I'm hitting the peri phase. The only thing I'm basing this on is hot flushes, cycle changes and Google research. I really do need to get myself checked properly at some stage.
